On this State of Georgia and Federal Juneteenth Holiday, the Jim-Ree African American Museum has partnered with the Elbert County Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Elberton to celebrate this momentous event on  Downtown Elberton Square on June 17, 2023. This historical event signifies when many enslaved African Americans gained knowledge of their freedom from slavery in 1865.               Back
